Busy Day - Freaking out too

There was blessing in disguise the fact that David, my supervisor has not got back to me on my 1st draft of my thesis (that said, I am seriously concerned now whether Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun are enough for me to do corrections, summarise stuff, print them and hand in by 12 noon on 5th June! May god bless).

I had to run tonnes of errands today. And as usual I started late, like 3:30PM. I got up late, I went to bed at 6:30AM. I could not sleep - Should I get that herb-based Nytol to help me sleep? Erghhh...

I started the day late (have I said this? Some amnesia pills for me too, the next think I need would be Viagra, if not Prozac). I even had to do a checklist realising there were a number of things to be completed today. 1st I went to Downing Comp Room to write a letter for my sponsor (how many times do they want updates from me, regardless how many times they ask for my results, it will not get any better OK!). Then to the Business School to get some certs and results photocopied. Thank god the other Course Admin was around to certify all docs, Paula, my course admin was not around.

Went off to Post Office to post the stuff to my sponsor. Then off to Central Library to use the free Internet to quickly send an email to Paula. I need a letter to certify that I am a current student at this Univ and "will" graduate soon. I will need to pick it up tomorrow morning. Spent about 45 mins there. Then, went off to Marks & Spencer to buy stuff. It is real bad to shop when you were hungry. I picked some stuff I won't even need. For example, tonight the fruity malt loaf will go to the bin as it has expired 7 days ago!

Finally I was home. I was contemplating to watch a documentary at the Picture House called Wal-Mart - The High Cost of Low Price [It's a rare bit of humour, and a welcome stab at Wal-Mart's chief accomplice, if that's the term: The film castigates local governments for giving tax breaks to Wal-Mart at the same time their schools are closing, but ultimately it is the individual customer who has to take responsibility for where he or she shops].

I was so interested to check it out. But I felt sleepy. Instead I headed home. And immediately cooked rice and prepared some ingredients to cook Chicken Korma. So I had a good meal today. Proofs? Check below (by the way, the entry is not video-driven today for I see no point really). *OK I am off to send some of the leftover food to the fridge now. Perhaps I can still eat it tomorrow. :)

Dinner at Sweet and Spicy

As I said earlier, I have been in my room all day, 2 reasons: The weather was bad (rainy) and I had friends online wanting to chat with me. Well I did not have lunch. So at about 10 PM, me and Luke went to Sweet and Spicy Cafe; a cafe serving Halal Indian food. Normally we go to this place, once or twice a week.

It is real funny. We hate this cafe/restaurant so much since they do not know how to take care of the regular customers. My friend Luke has in few ocassions told the waiter (owner?) to treat customers (read: regulars) with good service. So tonight, we felt the difference. I hope it will stay that way.

Room with a View

I used to hate this room when I first moved in. But not anymore, yeah I know, I grew to like it over the past 9 months. How can I forget when this is the room where I faced hard times of getting ideas for essays, entertaining friends on MSN chatting away how we hate to be treated like machines and to chat with my housemate in front of the PC albeit the fact we live under the same old roof of this 1800'th centruy house.

My room is located infront of a church, OLEM (you can see it in the vid). And there is St Alban's Primary school (I spoke to someone today, it is half-term now, no wonder I do not hear kids making noise).

I took this video, as I was so desperate to get out of the room and then, the weather has been nasty. I can't be bothered to buy a brolly no more, since it is May and the weather's supposed to improve now. Anyway, that is that. You can see in the vid there were few boys waiting for a bus. I normally get all the noises from the street; people shouting, the drunks, the mads, the students, the kids. You name them.

But I still like this room. I am off to the Chinese shop to get my dinner soon, it is right at the corner, the same row as this house I live in. :)

I really reckon that I should take the advice of my friend 'O" (not Oprah yeah! but something to that effect), to pursue this blog seriously. It can be an 'escape' from the world I live in. Uh my friend is in The Hague now, having a meeting. We had a good chat about stuff just now. I may not care what people may think anymore, this is it. I will update things here. All in videos. I do hope it won't burst bandwidth requirement for I know TM Net is struggling to keep to the promises of giving us that 1Mb. Uh well, so much for the Vision 2020 right? I am not bashing for nothing, but hey, wake up and smell the getah-sekrap. Well, I will be writing something serious soon I think. Let's see.

Mungkir Bahagia (by Hazami) or Bisbal?

Hazami is a Malaysian male singer. Apparently, he's good at composing songs and he apparently has good voice (like, some people say). To me he is alright. This is my rendition of his latest number; Mungkir Bahagia.

Well Mungkir Bahagia means -- well, I don't really know how to describe that in 2 words. It basically means a lover who doesn't keep to his promise for the happiness they have always thought of (planned for). Uh, I am crap at this. Anyway, here goes. Be warned that this is nothing like the original, to people with heart problems, or with high blood pressure or even with some minor complications, please, it is not advisable to click on this vid.

Okay, guys I decided not to put up the vid I described above. Too much I think, I do want you to come back to my site, after all. Anyway, this is vid of my favourite singer; David Bisbal. Enjoy!

A bit about him (Source: Wikipedia, 2006);

David Bisbal (born June 5, 1979) is a Spanish singer. Bisbal is the second finalist of the reality show Operación Triunfo, which was won by Rosa, a show that would later be mirrored in the United States by Protagonistas De La Musica. Bisbal was born in the city of Almería, Andalucía, and he has two older siblings, a brother, José María Bisbal (born 1968) and a sister, María del Mar Bisbal (born 1971).

Bisbal performed in an orchestra as a singer, leading to his participation in Operación Triunfo. Bisbal was signed up by record company Vale Music, which sent him to Miami to record his first CD album, with Kike Santander, a Colombian and important music producer.

Nurul - my niece

I am going all crazy looking through the vids in my C/: drive. Yeah there are some pics and videos. For now I am gonna be in random mode and will feature anything that captures my interest. After all this is my personal video sanctuary. LOL. Anyway, this is my niece, vid was taken a few days before I left for UK. I miss her actually. I am not sure whether she'd be that close to me when I come back home. Anyway, this is just a video. It is funny when I "bossed" her around to do things and she was so obliging!

Trip to Brussels

This is my first post at this newly-created blog as on 29th May 2006. Anyway, this is an attempt to help a friend on how to embed a video on a blog or site. And I am so positive this is kinda successful. Let's see to it. This video was taken when I was in Brussels, like early May 2006. It was not too bad a trip I must say.

This is not of a high-quality video feed, but it is good to get the ball rolling - like having video-driven blog. Like the saying goes, picture worths a thousand words yeah, so now, video worths billions of bytes (ohhhh, nerd!). Well take a look. This is a simple step. I will try to download some crappy editing "machine" from web and then, I will put a title to it.

Video in Brussels

While I am at this, I might as well update something, I mean what I have been up to. God, my supervisor sent back some feedback concerning my thesis (1st draft). And it is ok I think, he was kinda brutal in saying that my thesis has gone far beyond acceptable limits and they are being calculative towards the word-limit. Goodness. Whatever that is, I know I will work my butt off from 30th May - 5th June. Wish me luck people.
